So, for the purposes of this blog, what do I consider a graphic novel?
I used to have my own half-assed definition here that I put together after thinking about it for a couple of minutes, but after reading Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud, I’m going with his definition of comics:
“Juxtaposed pictorial and other images in deliberate sequence, intended to convey information and/or produce an aesthetic response in the viewer.”
Other than that, I’m generally only reviewing stuff I like, and trying to push myself to try new styles of both illustration and story. So we’ll both have to see how that turns out.
